Canada and UK in line for first Vision Pro international rollout – Gurman

We’re expecting the first stage of the Vision Pro international rollout to happen soon after WWDC, and there have been pointers to some specific countries. Canada and the UK are now said to be includedm after some earlier uncertainty.

There have so far been a number of clues to Apple’s plans for the next countries in line for launch, after the US …

Previous pointers to Vision Pro international rollout

Arguably the most reliable pointer to an imminent launch is Apple beginning the Vision Pro training process for store staff in other countries. The most recent report, a week ago, referenced seven countries:

  • Australia
  • China
  • France
  • Germany
  • Japan
  • Singapore
  • South Korea

Other reports referenced some of the same countries. Back in March, for example, job listings also included three of these.

The other big clue, also dating back to March, was visionOS code with virtual keyboard and autocorrect functionality for 12 languages. There was some overlap here – for example, Japan was listed twice for “English (Japan)” and “Japanese” – so this pointed to nine countries:

  • Australia
  • Canada
  • China
  • France
  • Germany
  • Japan
  • Singapore
  • South Korea
  • UK

The two additional countries in this list are highlighted in bold.

Canada and UK corroborated by Gurman

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman tweeted over the weekend confirmation that Canada and the UK are indeed slated to be among the next countries in line.

Canada, UK and Singapore are in as well for first Apple Vision Pro expansion.

9to5Mac’s Take

Canada and the UK are usually included in the list of countries to see new products after the US, so this always seemed likely, but it’s certainly good to get confirmation beyond the keyboard languages.

It sounds like Gurman has now received confirmation that staff training is underway in the two additional countries of Canada and the UK. We’ve also independently heard that UK store staff have been invited for Vision Pro training.

Personally, while I’d be very surprised if I find it offers me enough value to keep it, I’m very much looking forward to having the chance to try it.
